The B:HIVE is the newest offering of co-working space in Auckland. Located on the Smales Farm precinct, the client’s goal for B:HIVE was to create a progressive office space, with green sensibility. It provides a broader social hub, a far cry from a cold business park. The design aims to reflect the client’s ethical commitment with place-making and community connections.

The building itself (B5) is 16,500m² provides a range of office spaces for innovative and creative businesses. A key feature of the building is a central atrium and spiral staircase. It provides a vibrant focal point while allowing in plenty of natural light to all levels. The team at Simon James worked extensively with both client and architect to provide a range of furniture, lighting and rug solutions for this forward thinking co-working space.
